Hi Guys,
I have a couple of questions about what we should expect in Chiang Mai during the period we are there...
We have three nights at Baan Rai Lanna and then seven at Tamarind Village.
1. Weather. Is it hot? Cold? I know it is the relativly dry season, but I can%26#39;t seem to tell if we will need warm clothes or if summer clothes will be fine. Will there be a difference in temperature from Baan Rai Lanna and Tamarind? We%26#39;re going to be coming to Thailand after seven weeks of South Africa summer, so I hope we don%26#39;t have to bring too many warm items.
2. Are there any festivals or celebrations on during this time?
3. Is this a busy time with a lot of tourists? Or is it relatively quiet?
What to Expect February 14-24
Hi,
1. the weather in february is warm and dry during the day, cool at night (meaning you don%26#39;t really need air con). Inside the city you don%26#39;t feel the cold unless you ride a motorbyke at night or early moring. Outside the city you feel it and you may need a blanket to sleep comfortably. Not winter clothes are needed, but a sweater is good to have.
2. there%26#39;s the flower festival, nothing crazy, it is more like a promotional event for local flower producers. Still some very nice Bonsa茂 and orchids to see (a 1 hour visit is enough).
3. February is a quiet month, not many tourist.
What to Expect February 14-24
Hi Ashrich
The flower festival is not on ( if I am not mistaken) during the time your coming. As the flower festival (but things to change around there from time to time at last moment) is the first weekend in Febuary which is Second through third and there is a fun parade in the morning if your up.
You will experience quite a drop in tempature in the country compared to the city as the cement in the old city tends to work as a heat sink. So really do take a warm jacket as like most locals coming from S.A. summer you will be cold, I fear.
You will also find many tourists in town in Febuary. It is still the busy tourist time of year! That too is not bad just mean lots of new friends to meet and travelers to provide some very upto date to ideas of things to do.
..So as to the above post..(What will the wether be like). What will the wether be like from the 10th of june till earley july2nd...And also is there any thing else interesting going on that we shoud see and do while we are there...Chris
I am coming to CM 28th Feb from England and I don%26#39;t think I will need a Jumper no way no how. Happy holidays.
