Has anyone stayed at the Lanta Casuarina on Koh Lanta? It looks good on the sawadee website, and the price is certainly very good. It seems to be located near to the Layana, but the price is obviously much lower! The reviews posted on sawadee are from 2005, so would like to hear some more recent feedback if pos. Thank you

WE stayed in October 2005 in a beach front bungalow room 2101 best location in their bungalows. Food was very average but service fantastic. Pool at front in nice and beach very swimable and good lengh for walking. Casuarina is not a resort as such so there is no gym or spa. There is a couple of ladies under an open air building to the left of the pool that do massage all day. We ate either along the road or picked a restaurant along the beach. The beach is whitish sand but no snorkling. Beach had a steep drop off when we were there which was fine by us great for body surfing. If you stay I would spend the extra on a bungalow or at leas sea view in the building. Happy to answer any queries you may have. Stopped in Lanta Casurina last Chistmas, was a very nice hotel and staff were great. We did not tend to eat there on a night as there are much cheaper restayrants in working distance with lovely food and great beach bars to watch the sun go down. All in all a good hotel in a good location
