The Beach Resort Phi Phi on Long Beach anybody been

Hi there,

I have been looking at the beach resort on phi phi at long beach hoping to make a booking for 2 nights . There is only one booking service for this place through Global reservations with not much info or pictures to show you what the rooms are like or any pictures of its restaurant and pool. This hotel does not have a web site either for you to access this info.

Can anyone tell me what the rooms are like here , and also this hotel in general were you happy with your stay here what is the restaurant like and pool area. Also what is long beach like is it a good choice . Are there any other restaurants in this area.

Thanks

I%26#39;ve been looking for more info on this hotel as well, and haven%26#39;t had much luck. It%26#39;s only listed in the Lonely Planet books, and gets a good review there. You%26#39;re also able to book through www.phi-phi.com. Please let me know if you receive any feedback from others on this.

The Beach Resort Phi Phi on Long Beach anybody been

HI bovver

I have not found enough info on this place. So i have decided to stay at the rayavadee on Railay and just do day trips to phi phi and surrounding areas.I had allready paid for the Rayavadee so to pay to stop on phi phi as well i would for some nights be paying two lots of accomm fees .Which really is a bit silly. If i had not booked the Rayavadee i would have booked for the beach resort and taken a chance on it.

Cheers

We really want to stay on Ko Phi Phi so I think we%26#39;re going to book it and take a chance. The price is right and any comments I have read, while brief, seemed to have nothing bad to say about it.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi Bovver, Long Beach is a great location looking over towards Phi Phi leh. They organise day trips there from Long beach too. We stayed further along at Paradise resort , more basic than where you%26#39;re looking but we loved it. The great thing about being here is it%26#39;s quiet but near enough the town if you need shopping, more restaurants or a change of scenery. 80 baht by longtail. If the sea is choppy and it was some days you just land at the next beach round the corner. You can eat at the Paradise too we found it was significantly cheaper than the Beach.

The pool is not very large but you don%26#39;t need a pool, the sea is a gorgeous 28 degrees. You can hire a kayak and snorkelling is great.

Thanks for your input - it%26#39;s doesn%26#39;t seem like we can really go wrong anywhere we stay. We%26#39;re interested in just spending a week on the beach relaxing as we%26#39;ll be travelling around Thailand for two weeks before.

Does anyone have any input of whether it%26#39;s best to fly to Phuket or to Krabi before catchin a boat to the island? We%26#39;ll be coming in from Chiang Mai via Bangkok.

We flew to Krabi with Airasia- it%26#39;s very cheap if you book it well in advance. as soon as the next season%26#39;s flights are released. My son had done both crossingsto Phi phi on the ferry and he had said the Krabi crossing is less choppy than the Phuket one as you travel round the more sheltered side of the islands. This was a factor for me, also Krabi generally was an area we wished to visit more than Phuket as it%26#39;s a lot less commercialised. The scenery is outstanding.

We%26#39;ve booked our week at the Phi Phi Beach Resort so I%26#39;ll have to try to remember to post my thoughts on it once we return.

Thanks for your feedback on Krabi v. Phuket. Based on boat travel times and the ailines it looks like it%26#39;s best for us to arrive via Phuket and depart via Krabi.

Thanks again.

Hi Bovver,

When are you over on Phi Phi? I%26#39;m also looking for accomodation over there and am wondering about the Paradise resort or the Beach - maybe you could give me some advice if you%26#39;re back before I go in November?!

Hey there Sunseekerz,

We%26#39;ll be there in November as well so unfortunately we won%26#39;t be much help for ya. Think our week in November 12-18.

The one thing we did take note of is that The Beach is doing some renovations that they expect to have completed by November. We figured that if they plan on finishing in November that they%26#39;ll more than likely be completing inside work rather then exterior stuff at that point, which won%26#39;t be much of a disturbance.

Hi there,

I have stayed at both paradise resort and the beach resort. They are both an excellent choice, although paradise pearl is basic, its all you need for for $50AU or so less its a much better choice. The pool at the beach resort is a really small one right on the waters edge ont he beach, I can honestly say that in a month of staying on long beach I never saw one person go near it. There is nothing wrong with it but why would you want to use it when thailand has some of the best beaches? I think they have put in another pool up aroudn the back of the restaurant but i havent seen it. They are doing construction at the moment until november, i think adding more rooms of the cliff face. If your on a budget then stay next door and just eat at the beach resort every night as we did. The air con rooms are basically the same but the showers are older and rooms arent as flash. same facilities though minus TV.

Good luck and enjoy, any more info you need you can email me R_Lyrijis@yahoo.com as I never visit this site, only stumbled accross it whilst doing a search. Enjoy! Rowena
