weather

We are going on a 3 month round the world trip and really want to end it with wbout 10 days in Thailand, preferably relaxing on the beach with lots of sun. Having looked at Krabi etc, we found that the weather in late May/June was WET WET WET....but I have just read that Ko Samui is much better at this time of year..

Is this true?? Thailand is the best place in terms of location and flights on our RTW ticket. Is Ko Samui hot in May/June???

MANY THANKS!

weather

I was in Samui during June and the weather was hot but that is expected of anywhere in South East Asia. The weather was beautiful and had only one day of rain in ten days which was great. On the other hand some relatives were on the other side of the Southern mainland at Phuket and Krabi and they saw sunshine once in ten days so what you saw was certaintly true.

Where you would like to stay depends on how close you want to be from the main drag which is densely populated with resorts, bars, restaurants, shops and the night markets and don%26#39;t forget those tailors. This is Chaweng Beach a short taxi or tuk tuk drive away is Lamai Beach which is far quieter which is the only other one I visited aside from Chaweng for a cooking class which was very nice.

From Koh Samui you could consider a few nights at Koh Phangan or Koh Tao especially if you are divers.

weather

Yes Koh Samui is hot in June.May June %26amp; July are the hottest months for Samui. The weather on the Gulf side at this time is normally always better than the Andaman coast side.

I`ve been 3 times in the May June period %26amp; had good weather every time, pretty hot with only the odd shower or thunderstorm.

The weather patterns for Samui these days seem to be a little skewiff compared to other years but all in all I would bank that in late May/June you`ll see more than enough sun!!!

Hope this helps %26amp; enjoy
