Jetstar Flights from Australia to BKK

Anyone tried Jetstar Flights from Australia to BKK. I have booked to fly in December from Melbourne. We have heard horror stories about there seating, also was told flights often late.

Can anyone update us Pls.

Jetstar Flights from Australia to BKK

They are like any other low cost carrier.... Ryan air of Australia...

Haven%26#39;t flow with them internationally yet.... will, like you, in a couple of weeks... but I%26#39;m not getting my hopes up.

Seats are ok... well, for sardine class anyway. They do seating allocation... Unlike Tiger and AirAsia.

Jetstar only started international flights last week. The reports youl read were probably about their domestic flights.

.

OK, I%26#39;m in BKK now so i can give you a rundown.

Jetstar%26#39;s Airbus A330s newly fitted out with leather seats throughout. You can log on and select your own seats, but don%26#39;t be fooled by lots of seemingly empty seats on your flight - those are probably going to be filled on the day by people who check in without pre-allocated seats. There are LCD screens which lower from the centre ceiling every four rows, so if you have chosen not to pay $10 for the video on demand, you can watch those. Earbud headphones were handed out for free to people on my flight (info said you had to buy them for $50 but they gave them away).

The VOD was worth the $10 but you have to prebook that as they may not have enough if you leave it til you get there.

Meal service not worth $25 IMHO - you get a standard airline main meal wiht one alcoholic (or non) drink, and a snack later with tea/coffee/whatever. Better to take your own food and buy drinks at $5/6 each.

Flight was good tho, loud clunk right before landing did not sop us landing safely.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update, were on Jetstar Monday. Did it take long to get thru immigration %26amp; customs ? I was thinking it would take about an hour or so ?

Just spotted typo above, earbuds were supposed to be $5 not $50 (lol) was typing fast because I didn%26#39;t have any more 10 baht coins for the internet i was using. Either way they were free.

Immigration did not take long. Flight arrived about 8.15 IIRC, airport seemed pretty quiet. Would have been about 45 mins, I really wasn%26#39;t paying attention or wearing a watch for that matter.

I didn%26#39;t notice the time until I had caught the bus into Khao San Road and (eventually) found my hotel, and that was 10.30, after waiting maybe 20 mins for the bus to leave and then getting stuck in traffic for a while.
