Help PLEASE re Hilton Phuket

We are considering staying at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia as we can get quite a good deal on prices. Does anyone know what the food prices are like in the resort - iIknow they will be more expensive than the street restaurants, but we have 4 kids and they often don%26#39;t want to leave the resort. If anyone knows the approximate price of a few essentials, say a beer, a coke, a club sandwich or a pizza would they please let us know. As we would be there for about 8 days this can make a big difference. Thanks in advance.

Help PLEASE re Hilton Phuket

hi

ive just returned from phuket. i also stayed at the hilton. u are right the price of food etc is more expensive then eating outside the hotel. the prices also include taxes in the hotel. A coke cost me about B80.00 which would be about $3. a pizza at the hotel cost us between B250-00 to B300.00. (with taxes) im not too sure what the exact amount was. There are other places to eat not to far from the hotel. What u can also do is stock up on drinks that can be brought from local stores which will save u money.

hope this helps

Hi,

We are also looking at the Hilton to stay in March 07. Would you mind giving me the heads up on where you have found a good deal? I have only been looking on their website.

Thanks in advance

Hi Firebucket

Gothailand had a stay 7/pay5 deal for April, I think you had to contact them for March. Also try thsi web site, but again I think it was April onwards: info@hello-phuket-hotels.com

Beth is using a travel agent here in Adelaide, so maybe they can do free nights. I got an sms from ';Escape Travel'; yesterday informing prices were out for April, but haven%26#39;t contacted them as yet to see if their deals are better than what I%26#39;ve found on line. Sometimes the free night offers only start in April with travel agents.

Hope this helps

Hi Izza,

Thanks for the advice. It was really helpful and I%26#39;m thinking it may be a bit expensive for us even if we can get a good deal on the accomodation. I know we can eat out of the resort (and we - the adults - do) but often the kids don%26#39;t want to. Stocking up the mini bar with our own supplies is a good idea, but from past experience I have discovered it can be a LONG way from the pool back to the room for drinks in a big resort, so even though I have the best intentions, we can end up with a pretty hefty bar bill for 6 of us after 8 days! It%26#39;s just so much easier staying in a place where the prices are a bit more reasonable.

You have probably helped me from making a mistake, so thanks again.

Hi firebucket,

I will be doing accomodation bookings through our travel agent here in Adelaide. Based on last year%26#39;s Venture Holiday brochure a 2 nights for the price of 1 deal will probably be offered at the Hilton for April (minimum of 5 paid nights), and the price is pretty low for that time of year as well. Venture don%26#39;t have their new brochure out yet for April, but they do have their prices loaded with travel agents. I know there are no guarantees that the bonus deals will be the same for this April as they were for last April, but I%26#39;m finding with my quotes so far that they are reasonably similar. So if you are planning a longish stay, it might be worth getting a travel agent to quote for you on the Hilton. Hope this helps.

Hi Beth

Just following this post, trying to remember where you were originally thinking of staying in Karon, was it the Horizon?

Not sure whether you are still looking, have you looked at the Pacific Club and Spa. If we hadn%26#39;t fallen across the free nights deal we found at the Hilton, this place was high on our list in Karon. What about the Thavorn Beach Hotel, I%26#39;ve seen a pay5/stay7 deal with them, i think it%26#39;s virtually next door to the Hilton, although I think the Horizon is newer.

hi beth and craig

the hiltion is a large resort. And if you choose to stay there you certainly wont regret it. I didnt think our room was to far away from the pool. we only at e at the resort twice and then ate outside the hotel to cut cost. we also bought bulk bottles of water etc from local stores not far from the resort. (very cheap). i hope evrything works out. good luck
