Kata beach/Karon beach or Nai harn beach in July?

Hi!

I have been reading about Phuket and it%26#39;s beaches/areas.

And I ended to choose between these 3 beaches; Kata Beach, Karon Beach or Nai Harn Beach....

Any idea what beach is the best choise for July?

I mean the most save (sheltered) place to swim?

I did read that Nai Harn Beach is not good to swim at all in July :(

So maybe that is not for me....

So how is Kata Beach or Karon Beach? Are they more save to swim in July?

I don%26#39;t know about Patong beach...

Is that save to swim in July? I just know that Patong is very very busy place with plenty of things to do... But maybe I want more relax/quiet place...

Kata beach/Karon beach or Nai harn beach in July?

Hi Jone

I%26#39;ve been following this forum since April and I recall some people talking about having the ';red flags'; out on Karon beach (warning re dangers of swimming) etc. You could try doing a search of trip reports and check any around that time of year. I think the west coast gets fairly strong winds and more surf at that time of year, but I may be wrong. Not sure if Cape Panwa area is a bit more sheltered from the winds, although it%26#39;s a little further away from Patong and the excitement. Depends on what you want from holiday: more relaxation and happy to travel a little way for shopping night life etc or be close to everything.

Good luck, Lee

Kata beach/Karon beach or Nai harn beach in July?

Ok...Thank you :)

So Cape Panwa should be more sheltered, that%26#39;s good :)

Cape Panwa, I did find some hotels from that area.

Is there any tailors around Bay Hotel or Cape Panwa Hotel or By The Sea Hotel?

I also did read that Karon Beach is not good for swimming in July :(

But I don%26#39;t know about Kata Beach or Chalong Bay...

Any comments about those beaches in July?

Hello jone,

Durring the peak of the ';Monsoon Season'; the only resort on the west coast of Phuket Island that can offer any kind of protected beach is the Cape Panwa Resort. Of course there are times that the weather is ok at most of the beaches however if you are looking for a sure thing the Cape Panwa is the only way to go.

Thank you for info :)

Cape Panwa sounds nice :)

And there are some pretty islands (Coral island) very near Cape Panwa area.

And HUGE + is if the ocean is ok to swim/sheltered in Cape Panwa :)

Phuket Richard, what do you mean by ';Durring the peak of the ';Monsoon Season'; ? Is July in the Peak of the monsoon season?

Hello jone

The ';Monsoon'; season begins in May and continues untill November. What I ment by peak is that it is mid season. Usualy we get the worst of the rains in August but it was September this year that we recieved record rain falls.

Durring the season the winds come in directly off the sea and on the West coast of the Island where all of the beaches are they put the red swimmers warning flags up and leave them there untill the season is over. You can have weeks of good weather and water conditions but it is unpredictable and you will just have to hope for the best durring your stay. The Cape Panwa Resort%26#39;s beach is protected in the cove and the only place that I would personaly recomend for a beach orjust book a hotel with great pools.

Thank you :)

Maybe I will book a hotel near Kata Beach :)

And hope for the best...

I think Cape Panwa is bit too isolated...

I also did read that water is not so clear round Cape Panwa :(
