hi there,

i am intending to cover

Grand palace, Emerald buddha temple, reclining buddha temple and wat Pho -all in a day.

is it possible to cover wat arun as well?

How do i get to these places please? Can go by bus/cab?

Or is it accessible by river boats only?

If so, where do i take the riverboats? how much is the fare per person please? thanks so much

You can do it all in a day, Depending on how quickly you go, you can do all before a late lunch if you start early. I take a taxi when I go to this area. If your hotel is near the river, ask at the hotel where to catch the river taxi, otherwise just take a taxi. It may help to have somebody from the hotel to write down in Thai where you want to go. All 3 locations are in easy walking distance, though you will have to catch a boat across the river to get to Wat Arun.

i heard mandarin hotel (rama iv road) is very near to the grand Palace. any idea how should i get there from the hotel?

The reclining buddha temple and Wat Pho is the same place. It is in a walking distance from the Grand Palace %26amp; the Emerald Buddha temple. Wat Arun is just located on the other side of the bank of river. You can take a ferry boat from %26#39;Tatien pier%26#39; (3 Baht/persone/one way). The pier is just across a road from Wat Pho.

For the Mandarin hotel, it is not far but not very near to the Grand Palace. If you take a taxi, it would take you around 20 or 30 mins depending on the traffic. You can walk to the Sipraya pier (around 15 mins) to get an express boat to the Grand Palace. However, if you have 3 or 4 persons in your group, I recommend you get a taxi.
