Help, we have just spent ages researching the best Hotel to visit next year. We thought we had found the one - Kata Beach Resort, it has everything we love. We were so convinced we persuaded my Brother - in - law to come with us on his Honeymoon (also his first time in Thailand, our 4th).
I was dismayed to read that building work has started very nearby and is going to go on for the next 9 months.
We are due to visit April 07.
I have read that it is a government building with work going on 0800 - 2200 every day.
Our travel agent had no knowledge and we do not know what to do. I cannot bear the thought that we will ruin my hubbys brothers honeymoon.
Am I over reacting, is the work going to be out of sight out of mind from the Hotel? Or should we look at somewhere else?

Hi Wren,When we were in Kata Octrober the building work was going on.It is across the road from the Kata beach resort,however the Kata beach resort has a very tall wall surrounding the premises %26amp; we walked past the building site every day %26amp; didn%26#39;t find it a problem.
We popped into the resort every night for cocktails %26amp; couldn%26#39;t hear anything. On the beach you are far enough away from the construction . Someone who has visited the area recently may be able to help you. We have stayed in Kata when they were building the new shops %26amp; Kata Palm resort we have seen so much change in the last 4 years %26amp; we weren%26#39;t hassled by it at all. CJ
