Chao Phraya River

Thanks jim, so basically other than the 5 stars no other dining out options on the river :-(

We were staying at the Sheraton Royal Orchid and ate at a seafood restaurant directly accross the river on a Saturday evening. They even had their own boat that we hailed from the pier in the shopping center right next to the hotel. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable. I had a medium spicy prawn soup and giant barbecued prawns. The Thai beer was excellent and cold. We ate outside and had a great view of activity on the river. Unfortunately I can%26#39;t remember the name! Maybe someone else can.

I think this is the Yok Yor Restaurant http://www.yokyor.co.th/yokyor/index.html

Hi everyone

This is my favourite place : )

This is the place I brought Ms. Checker from Tripadvisor when she visited me in Bangkok and she loves it. You can ask Checker : )

Thanks everyone. This is indeed helpful. Have added these restaurants to my list. Btw, are these very expensive places to eat? How much would a meal for two approx cost?

For Khinlomchomsaphan, the dish cost is around 80-200 Baht depending on what you order. If you order seafood, it will cost more.

Last time we went with 3 person, we ordered fish cakes, Tom Yum Seafood, fried vegies and one more dish that I could not remember. The drink we order one glass of beer and water. We paid like 800+ Baht.

Actually, it is just a standard price for a good restaurant in Bangkok.

Thanks.. that does indeed sound reasonable.. cant wait to get to bangkok now!!

there is a ferry which picks you up from SaphanTaksin station and delivers you across the river to Yok Yor (3 or 4 minutes)

The restaurant is quite fun - food not too bad - service was a bit patchy on the night we went but there was a sort-of Karaoke thing going on with some very good singers singing. Not expensive at all.
