Montien Vs Hard Rock Hotel in PAttaya?

Hey guys,

I am going to Pattaya in Feb and can not decide where to stay out of these two hotels. I want a great location close to shopping, restaurants, and the beach, as well as a great pool and clean room, and decent bathroom. If anyone can recommend either of these hotels i would greatly appreciate it

Nat :)

Montien Vs Hard Rock Hotel in PAttaya?

Hard Rock is a great fun hotel, the Montien though has the better location and if you get a high up room you can get great views from the room across Pattaya Bay. I think Montien would be cheaper, both are close to shops and entertainment. Hard Rock is not on the beach road but the Montien is. Another close to Montien and very similar is the Siam Bayview so that could be another option.

In february for a twin room including breakfast, tax and service Har Rock would probably be around AUD 140 a night for 2, the Montien about AUD 118 and the Siam Bayview about AUD 124 or about AUD 188 for a deluxe seaview. the A1 Royal Crusie goes from about AUD 90, it is further north from the others and not quite so convenient but is another option. Hope that helps. Do note that the beach is that area is not so good, after all it is a beach in a city !

There are nicer beach areas in North pattaya / Naklua area which is just a ride into the busy part of town.

There is a huge long list on sawadee that you can browse through all the photos and see the locations on the maps, a huge choice but you also get to appreciate more about the locations. http://www.r24.org/asiaoz.com/pattaya/hotels/

Rates you click for AUD to see the AUD price conversion. probably around 100 places! Jomtien is over the hill south of Pattaya.

Good advise from Monica - just that there is a better beach at Naklua, just a 15 min walk (or 2 mins in a taxi, whatever) from North pattaya. Our new favourite is ';The Loma spa resort';, just off ';the Dolphin';, or the main roundabout in Norfh Pattaya. What a deal they offer! Fantastic gardens, pool, rooms with all the amenities, massage, spa, for.....sorry,don%26#39;t undertsand oz dollar (my sister would as she lives in Sydney) in high season, about 1200-1400 baht per night, or 20 English squids! That, by the way, includes a buffet brekkie for two. The beach is a 5 min walk away, and much better than Pattaya bay beach, or Jomtiem,IMHO!

my vote goes for the montien i stayed in it. the service was fantastic the rooms were large with good ameneties facilities were nice pool was big if not as big as hardrock and i feel its rather more upper end than hardrock. also request for a refurbished room on a high floor

The choice is difficult because those 2 hotels are neighbour and at about the same price, but Hard Rock is more fun and Montien more a classic hotel, great quality for both.

Thanks guys so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

I think Im leaning more towards The Hard Rock Hotel at this stage, ultimately I would love to stay at Dusit but its just a little much.

Thanks for helping me make my decision :)))

Sorry natalie, don%26#39;t want to introude on your message but whilst having Pimilan%26#39;s attention - Pimilan, I keep hearing about a Hilton opening up Jomtien way ? have you heard anything ?

Natalie - as someone just pointed out, the Hard Rock is, well, it%26#39;s a hard Rock, so you do get that extra pazzazz and whizz or whatever from a place like that, but as BKKgas said, if it%26#39;s beach then head Naklua way. If you like swimmin do go up to Pattaya Park ( on the way to Jomtien ) it is a nice water park and good value.

Monica 4, I heard that maybe a second Hard Rock hotel wil open, a Royal Meridien( Starwood ) in the Sails condo for 2009, and also a Holiday Inn. The Central group will open a spectacular hotel in Wong Amat in the location of the old Central Wong Amat hotel.
