is it worth paying the extra for a river view? what view does the normal room look on to?

not a very inspiring view from the normal room, but we loved the room anyway and did not miss the river view.

Don%26#39;t bother paying extra. We had one night in a river view room (it so happened to be cheaper than the standard room) and another night a few days later in the normal room. Both rooms exactly the same, one faced the river that was all, and to be honest, you get the view from the pier so why pay more? We went on to the balcony and the smell from the river, or perhaps a vent nearby, was so awful we went in pretty rapidly.
