Orphanages

I am interested to hear about experiences with orphanages in Chiang Mai and surrounding area. I would like to visit and help out with one but not any which are run by Christian Missionaries.

Working with children with A.I.D%26#39;s would be of interest also.

Orphanages

There are real government and Royal patronaged orhanges here in the north.

Like the one on Mae Rim road or

Ban Kingkaew Orphanage on Wuali road in town for very young children.

or Ban Mitrathorn in Chiang Dao district under the patronage of the Princess Ubolratana Foundation which is aids related

Here are some good places to start but there are dozens of non Christian ophanages that could use a hand.

Thanks for that, I went out to Vieng Ping today. Surprisingly hard to find the first time as few people seemed to know here it was.

Anyone else interested had beter ask for the Chiang Mai boys home which is in the front of it on the main road.

Also One needs to call ahead and make appointments apparently. I was allowed to spend an hour with the little ones and their teachers in the play grounds though and it was good fun.
