Is the JW Marriott located on the beach

We are planning to stay at the JW Marriott in Jan. We love the beach and were wondering if the property is on the Beach or if the beach is away from the property. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Is the JW Marriott located on the beach

I%26#39;m staying there in January as well (15-22) and I%26#39;m told the proprety is on the beach however Mai Khao beach is not exactly your typical sunbathing and swimming beach, it%26#39;s a steep slope I think and the water may be a bit rough for swimming. I think the hotel has a bar down by the beach (see candid traveler photos in the hotel review). Seems the beach is best for walking and maybe a quick dip but from the reviews and what people have said on here I%26#39;m guessing the pool(s) are the hang outs. But the property is definitely ON the beach, no roads to cross or anything. You can google Mai Khao beach to find out more. Have fun!!

Is the JW Marriott located on the beach

Stayed at the Marriott June/July and it is on the beach. Or at least it backs right up to it; the pools are at the very end of the property, then there%26#39;s the walk way parallel to the beach and then the natual flat sandune section with some plants, then the beach and ocean.

We were in the villas, so towards the back, but could walk out and be on the beach in a few minutes. Well, we tend to walk fast too, so maybe 5 minutes for others!

It was monsoon season when we were there, so the waves were rough and the drop off appears steep so it really is not ideal as a play beach or for inexperienced swimmers. However, it was beautiful and peaceful to have the beach to yourself when you walk! Pools are great and the south one has a swim up bar and waterfall and is raised, so you can see the ocean. Main pool is also nice, large and raised to see the ocean.

Waves might be better in January and the local experts can tell you that.

Have fun! It%26#39;s a nice property! And Phuket is beautiful!

is it a luxurious hotel? 4 or 5 stars in your opinion? is there anything around the hotel (restaurants, bars), or do you need to go into phuket town? how long does that take ? what about everything else (boats to phi phi, snorkling, etc..) sorry for so many questions. iam planning my honeymoon, and i am having a hard deciding where to stay. thanks in advance.
