I have 4 adults and 2 young children, will I be able to take 1 taxi from the airport to the town or do I need 2 taxis?

4 adults and 2 children will not fit in 1 cab. I have seen at least one mini van taxi in Bangkok, but they are fairly rare. From the old airport you could hire a minibus at the limo desk. The cost would be a little more than 2 taxis, I think. I am sure you can do the same at the new airport.

If the minibus costs more then a 1000 baht, then take 2 cabs. One cab will cost you around 300 baht inclusvive of toll ways and airport surcharge.
