looking forward to our first visit to pattaya

going to pattaya for our xmas break this year, can anyone tell me which part of pattaya are we best staying in for a really lively holiday do we stay north ,south or central pattaya we have been advised by the travel agent to stay in the mind resort ,but is that nearby the liveliest part of pattaya

looking forward to our first visit to pattaya

Firstly you%26#39;ll need to book pretty smartish.....and you realy don%26#39;t give enough info as to what kind of ';lively '; you want....

looking forward to our first visit to pattaya

yes well i hope you have your flight booked and if you don%26#39;t have a hotel booked it might be more a question of what you can get.

Actually it doesn%26#39;t really matter where you stay geographically as it is so easy to get about pattaya by baht bus.

Hi, the Mind Resort is a new Hotel located in South Pattaya Soi 17 about a 5 minute ride away from the nightlife on Beach Road and Walking St, if you are going to book there I would do it direct with the Hotel via their website as it will probably be cheaper,as allready mentioned there are buses in the resort but they stick to certain routes and Soi 17 is not on one , I would stick to central or south Pattaya but most hotels will be booked up allready.

travel agent could only book us into the sunbeam hotel can anyone tell us more about it and whether it is a good choice as this holiday has cost us two thousand pounds ,i,m not too bothered about the star rating of the hotel, but i want it to be clean and for the staff to be hospitible and friendly with good service.

Hi, the Sunbeam Hotel is in Soi 7 which is one of the livliest streets in Pattaya full of beer bars and a couple of go go bars it is two minutes walk to the beach, it gets mixed reviews on this and similar web sites due to its location and what people expect from a holiday here in Pattaya, some of the bars do play loud music but they have to turn it off by law at 1. a.m., there is a good airconditioned restuarant pub called the Pig and whistle in Soi 7 if you get bored with the Thai cuisine and fancy some fish and chips.

Sunbeam is about he biggest hotel in Soi7/8 area. But I would say that Flipper House and Flipper Lodge have better rooms and better trained staff, they both have pools on the roof. The Sunshine has some good rooms, if you go for the upper grade they are very big with an anti-room between the big bedroom and bathroom. Some have a seaview. Be careful about noise at night in any of these hotels. Some rooms are OK but others face onto the street below and you%26#39;ll get the full force of it till it shuts down around one or two AM. There is a new Eastiny on Soi 7 that would be worth checking out. They already have 32 on Soi8. The one at the top end Soi 8 is better equiped.

jackiebeegood, i stayed at the sunbeam for 2 weeks in october this year, it%26#39;s a good position for the nightlife, but the rooms are not so good, cockroaches in the bedroom and bathroom.

i asked to be moved, they showed me 3 more rooms, and they all had cockroaches in the bathroom. breakfast was good, and the pool area is fine. i have done a trip report on this hotel, just enter sunbeam in the search box, you will find my report and others.

From what I hear, you better HURRY to find an hotel.

Seems many are fully booked for X-mass period !
