pathumwan princess hotel

Hi

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel many times last time December 2005 will be there again this December we to have just touched 60 you will find this hotel to be in a great location especially for the sky train and MBK and other department stores the staff are friendly and helpful

Hi oversixties!

I%26#39;m 58, my friend 68, and we%26#39;re going to be at the Pathumwan from 25 Feb - 2 March. When will you be there? I%26#39;ve booked a trip to River Kwai/Tiger Temple through ixplore, an aussie wholesale travel company. It only caters for small groups ie for up to two people it%26#39;s $AU139, (which at current rate is 56 GBP); 3 -5 it%26#39;s 43 GBP. The tour is from 7am - 7pm, including lunch.

Not sure if it can be booked from overseas, but if you want to check it out, the website is ixplore.com.au.

From what I%26#39;ve seen on other tour websites, the price is pretty good.

Have a good holiday!

Kathleen

Kathleen - My partner and I will be there from the 25 Feb to the 3 Mar also, and am doing the River Kwai/ Tiger Temple tour but with Adventure World - See you in the bar xx

Kathy, ixplore doesnt only cater for smaller groups, it just gives different prices depending on how many are travelling in your particular party eg: if there are only two of you joing the tour it is $139 per person and if there are between 3 %26amp; 5 in your party joining the tour it gets cheaper per person. They have different vehicles depending on the size of the tour party on each given day. This company is Australian based and as such is more expensive than the Thailand based websites.

Hi Kristabelle

Yes, it would be good to catch up with another forum member! I%26#39;ll be in Phuket for 11 days first, and they have a really good Friday night social for forum members, which I%26#39;m really looking forward to.

What is the cost of the River Kwai/Tiger Temple tour you%26#39;re going on, and for how many hours? I thought $139 for twelve hours, including lunch, was quite a good price.

Thanks for your info mole - I understand what you mean about tours being cheaper when larger numbers being booked, but I have booked two others with ixplore, and the quote for those states %26#39;seat in coach%26#39;, whereas the River Kwai tour states %26#39;private tour%26#39;.

Whatever, I%26#39;ll just be happy to be going!

Yes they have all the facilities you would expect from a 3/4 star hotel , tour desk included and great location.

Hi Kathy Just saw your message $138 is an excellent price ours is $160, we are doing the opposite to you and doing Phuket last booked into to the Friday Night Social on the 16/3. Wish the holiday was tomorrow but this planning bit is great too

Hi,

I think it would be cheaper to book your River Kwai tour over there at the hotel I am sure it was cheaper than we were quoted by tour companies here (Aust). Depends I suppose if you are on a tight schedual and need times sorted.

Hope this helps

Often things are cheaper when you do them on the spot.

However if your time is limited it is good having a pre-paid itinerary as you know your free time is okay for relaxing and you Know you%26#39;ll definitely get to do those must do%26#39;s.

We only have 2 nights in Chiang Mai after originally planning 4, but changing in order to get much cheaper flights if we spend 4 paid nights in Bali in a hotel etc

(asmuch of our trip in june /July 2007 will be timeshare which we have arranged independently)

We are doing an all day 4x4 trip of the Golden triangle on this day and will book it and pay for it in New Zealand so we know we will get to see something in our limited time.

Travel Agents may be more expensive but they can be very helpful and help your trip run more smoothly.
