Honeymoon Hotel in Bangkok

Hi All-

Im currently looking to book a hotel in Bangkok for 7 nights for part of my honeymoon. I know I can use the hotel ratings, but I was wondering if anyone on here has had any particular experiences with any hotels they would like to share (both good and bad), and suggestions on where to go. Im currently thinking of the Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa or the Oriental.

Also, does anyone know any special discount websites to book the hotel?

THANKS!

For our honeymoon we had a suite at the Peninsula it was heaven.

Honeymoon Hotel in Bangkok

Hi,

Marriott Resort %26amp; Spa is wonderful we just returned on Sunday from Thailand and had a 4 nights stay at this Hotel and absolutely loved it, it%26#39;s like an oasis in a manic city.

We%26#39;ve been to Bangkok 7 times, stayed at the Landmark twice, Shangri La Twice, Amari Atrium once, and Sharaton Royal Orchid Once, then just recently the Marriott out of all of these our favorite is the Marriott and will definately return.

Read the reviews on here for the Hotel they are all very good.

Julie

The hotels you mention are rubbish. Go for the Shangri La - it%26#39;s superb. This in my humble opinion without prejudice and subject to contract.

I just love the oriental

Wood97,

As much as I hate to agree with GoonerBunny (I assume being an Arsenal supporter) being a fan of the (superior) Mighty Blues.

How can you say the Marriott is rubbish - read the reviews they are pretty excellent - Shangri lacks personal attention and is more akin to the business traveller.

I sacked the shangri-la,when they failed to reserve a room we asked for when we returned back from Koh samui. We spoke to the guest liason officer, who checked every floor bless her,to no avail. We asked her to ring the Oriental,to see if they had a room, and she obliged. We jumped in a taxi, and went there. The oriental is superb, and knocks the socks off the Shangri La in all respects for a honeymoon.I have seen comments, that the Oriental staff can be quite stuffy, but we didn%26#39;t find them so at all.

Shangri-la is an Ok Hotel, certainly not one of the top 3 in Bangkok.

You will be very pleased with the Peninsula. I would stay at the Pen instead of the Oriental, the Pen rooms are bigger, more amenities and better views. Oriental is a great place for lunch or dinner but it is not what the only game in town that it once was, though still a very good hotel, but for the price there are better options.. For that matter, although I have not yet been, the new Hilton Millenium is brand new and may be offering some good promotions, Google it! You might also look at the new lebua hotel ( they spell it that way on purpose). They have just taken over a hotel operation in the high rise that also has the Scirroco and Distill restaurant and bar and have large rooms and great views and evidently superb accomodation ( and I believe they have promotional prices now),

Marriott on the river is a fine hotel and you won;t be disappointed there either.

I wish I could recommend the Four Seasons but they are still going through renovations. But for Sunday brunch they can;t be beat!

Balimoon.

OK. We can agree to differ over the relative merits of these hotels.

I would say though that the %26#39;new hotels%26#39; have the advantage of course of being new. With the Shangi La and Oriental you have history and class.

It%26#39;s a bit like those Johnny come lately %26#39;blues%26#39; you support. You need to be supporting a real club with a glittering history such as Liverpool (5 European Cups - in fact if you wish to view the Champions League trophy you can make the trip to Anfield where it is on permanent display). As Mourinho knows money cannot buy you pedigree and history.

I read with interest that you consider The Landmark ,The Sheraton and The Marriot are in your humble opinion rubbish..I have never stayed at any of these hotels and was curious to know why??..

Forget the rest, Go for the Best ,Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, It has everything. Position,Service,Food. You won%26#39;t find better.Thats why its rated No.1
