Honeymoon in Thailand?

Getting married at the end of May and we were planning on going to Thailand. We are heartbroken at the destruction of the tsunami and were unsure of whether or not to continue our planning or go somewhere else. We would still like to go, and hopefully contribute valuable tourism dollars.

Would appreciate recommendations for beach areas to go to as we had planned on Phuket/Phi Phi islands, but feel we should go with an alternative beach destination, as we dont expect everything to be 100% there by end May.

Also, if anyone has any tips on New York City travel agents specializing in Southeast Asia, or can recommend good websites/tips to get cheaper travel to Thailand (not tours!), that would be fabulous.

many thanks!

Honeymoon in Thailand?

Phuket Beaches such as Kata Beach and Karon beach are fine, I would just search for Kata beach Hotels or whatever and see what comes up, 80% and more of all hotels on Phuket were totally unaffected, much is already back to normality, I think Kata and Karon beaches are the nicest if you want nice beach and also restaurants and things to do, quieter than Patong. Do note though end of May is the rainy season so you might want to take a look at Koh Samui as an alternative. You don%26#39;t need an agent, just search for cheap hotel rates online and then check also for best deals on air tickets. NW and UA have various promotions, if flying from NYC area there are non stops with the likes of NW to the Far East, you won%26#39;t find a direct flight but connections with NW and UA are easy. Also check fares for Eva Air as they have a class called %26#39;Deluxe Economy%26#39; which is a premium Coach class with only 8 seats abreats instead of the usual 10 on their 747%26#39;s, it%26#39;s more than normal coach but you get extra legroom also.

There are many beautiful beaches in Thailand beside Phuket and Phi Phi Island which are Samui or Hua Hin Beach. We used the company name HoneymoonThailand (www.honeymoonthailand.com) They arranged all we needed, excellent services, we loved their services, very good price. They%26#39;re very expert for honeymoon in Thailand. You can contact them for more information.

...if you want to help with the Dollars, then go to Phuket.!

The beaches are still wonderful (if not cleaner than before), the hotels are fantastic and the resort needs the dollars! Other resorts are very busy.... Phuket is now looking more beautiful than before...

Been here 5 times and here until 16th Feb on karon beach - never seen so clean and hte waters so clear - absolute paradise, and we are helping where it is needed by spending money here on Phuket....

Have a look at Hua Hin - the Anantara resort there is classed as one of the most romantic in asia. try www.anantara.com

I am getting married early next year and wanted to look into Thailand as an option. www.honeymoonthailand.com came back with the best itinery by far. Has anyone else used them? How did the honeymoon go?
