Visas help please

I would like to fly into thailand from UK, stay a week or two, then go to burma for 2-3 weeks, return to thailand, then to cambodia /laos for a month or more, then to malaysia via thailand, and return 2 months later.

So I get a visa issued when I get to bangkok, do I need another one after burma?and after laos etc?

also, can I get Myanmar/Laos/Cambodia etc visas in bangkok, all at the same time, or will they run out before I get to Laos?

So will I need to get the Laos/cambodia etc visas at the respective borders?

I%26#39;d rather get them all at the same time

Visas help please

Crikey! This is possibly the most difficult query I%26#39;ve seen on this forum. I know it should%26#39;nt be...but. Burma (myanmar) is the first one that sticks out as a problem per se. It seems that Thailand is your base - so, I%26#39;d get a mutli-entry visa from the U.K., that covers you coming back into Thailand. Laoation visas have just been extended to 30 days from 15, get that one here in Bangkok, no problem, just takes two trips, (or one if you are prepared to pay the extra 5 quid on your first visit) and wait three hours or so. Cambodia - well, I guess its Angkor, otherwise it is a very depressing country. However, no need to get visas for that country. Pay 20 dollars upon entry.

Like to help more, but your schedule is somewhat unusual; - not for yourself obviously, as this is the way you have chosen. All at the same time from Scotland? No way -sort the visas out for the other countries from BKK.

Good Luck with your plans!

Visas help please

All very simple really... Get your visa for Myanmar back home... takes a few weeks.... Get the form on-line.. fill it in and send 2 copies... 3 photos, letter stating departure date from your home country, arrival date and departure date in Myanmar... and your (valid) passport.. not sure of cost.. about 20GBP I should think....... visa is valid for 3 months for a stay of up to 28 days. If all else fails you can que up outside the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok and get it there.. or pay a travel agent to get it for you...

You don%26#39;t get a visa when you enter Thailand... you get a stamp... entitling you to stay for 30 days.... you can get this each time you enter... but stay maximum 90 days in a 180 day period... or you can get a Thai tourist visa in your home country..

For Laos and Cambodia... you get a visa when you enter the country... don%26#39;t forget to bring extra photos with you... or for Cambodia.. you can do it on-line....

Do take a few minutes and try something called ';google';...

Have a nice trip.

oh... I overlooked one thing...

You don%26#39;t need a tourist visum for Malaysia.... unless you intend to stay for longer than 1 month.

thanks for the replies

so I get the new thai visa automatically when I fly into bangkok, which allows me 90 days out of 180?

that%26#39;s good news.

I will check out the myanmar visa here, but if a travel agent can get me one quick in bangkok that looks good.

I maybe in malysia for longer than a month in total, as going to Borneo too, but probably get to indonesia at some stage

No you don%26#39;t get a Thai visa on arrival... you get a stamp... allowing you to stay for 30 days max. If you want a visa you should get it before you leave home.

However as you are going in and out of Thailand the 30 day visa excemption stams may work for you. You can stay max. 90 days on these stams in 180 day period.

that%26#39;s good.

If I wanted to get laos/myanmar/cambodia/malaysia(30+days) visas via a travel agent in bangkok, any recommendations, and would it take more than a couple of days?

I want to see all these places, but not sure of the route yet(and it may change). I%26#39;m interested in entering or leaving myanmar by land, so I%26#39;d need to apply for permission 2 weeks before I believe.

Sorry to be so complicated, asking all these questions

Perhaps you need to do some reading.....
