Baht vs USD

Baht vs USD

hahahah breconion! guess what! i always carry a ';secret'; 1000baht bill with me too..';just in case';

come on guys own up! What is this ';just in case'; stuff. BTW, as you may well be aware the dollar has been falling against the baht recently.

If I was in US would I carry Thai Bahts???

so why carry $ in Thailand.

Just about any currency is easy to exchange in Thailand... not sure about Rupee...

As a rule of thumb... don%26#39;t change into a third currency.... unless you have to... as you loose a % at each transaction. USD is not a common currency in Thailand (albeit easy to exchange) ... unlike Laoes, Cambodia, Myanmar and others.

Use Thai baht for your everyday purchases in Thailand. Change your dollars or other home currency as you need it.

When you leave for home you will have an opportunity to change your money back into your home currency at the airport.

Use the security box in your hotel for your valuables and surplus cash. Traveler%26#39;s checks are easy to cash in Thailand too, some credit unions and other banking institutions may sell them ';fee free'; to their members.

Thanks everyone.. looks like makes more sense to carry baht and the occassional 100 usd %26#39;just in case%26#39; with me well. i always end up encashing my secret money too!!

Is there an upper limit on the amount of Baht one can carry into Thailand?

Not sure about how much mony you can legally bring in with you...

But you are better of changing into Baht in Thailand.... you get the better exchange rate there.
