Just back from Cape Panwa
Hi
We%26#39;ve booked the Cape Panwa Hotel in mid Feb. We booked the deluxe suite in E Wing. There%26#39;s been a couple of recent posts from people not at all happy with what they say as unfriendly staff and a dated hotel what was your stay like
Thanks
Rachel
We were in E wing and had a great room with a good view but to be honest the only time we were in the room was to get ready and sleep.
I loved Cape Panwa and am quite suprised at some of the comments about the hotel that have been posted although of course everyone is entitled to their own opion. I found every one of the staff (with one exception - no names mentioned but he was not from Thailand and it showed. It seemed that he picked out who he wanted to talk to and made sure he did not make eyecontact with anyone else) friendly and polite , who can forget Jenny, Sandy Manop and Pong etc and all the at the beach bar but again I am amazed at the number of people (all nationalities) who can order a drink or food without using the basic words of please and thank you. It is made quite plain in brochure that Cape Panwa is rather secluded and a way from Patong etc but I think that adds to its charm. One night in patong was enough for me.
Will post full review at the weekend.
Hi brookster
When you say tide goes out does that mean there%26#39;s no way of getting beyond the reef except for a boat?
Hi
The tide does go right out at certain times - there is a list of the best times for swimming in your room which I must say is very accurate.
You would not be able to launch a boat from the beach at Cape Panwa when the tide is out and swimming would not be advisable.
But this wont spoil your holiday, somedays the tide was in nearly all day. Perhaps you could email the hotel and they may have an idea of the time tides for when you are going.
I am sure you will enjoy Cape Panwa but if you want any other information, I would be pleased to see if I can help.
Regards
