How to go to Krabi from HH?

I am going to stay near Hua Hin (Cha Am) in this December.

I was hoping to do a short visit (maybe 2 nights) to Krabi

Any ideas how to get to Krabi from Hua Hin/Cha Am? Any ideas about the price?

I know that in Hua Hin there are some tour/trip operotors for trips to Koh tao... Is there similar tour/trip operators for a trip to Krabi?

There are express buses direct from Hua Hin to krabi, I would think it would take about 10 hours, they seem to leave for the south from about 9 or 10 pm onwards. I am guessing the bus fare would be about THB 700-750

If you are a family or have a higher budget a car and driver from Hua hin to krabi would cost something around THB 6,000 ( about USD 160 ) including fuel, the journey should be about 8 hours.

I think you are better just using the bus and booking your own accommodation in krabi.

So I think the buss is best (at least for the budget) :)

Do you know, does the buss go to Krabi every day/evening?

The bus leaves Hua Hin @ 8:30PM and arrives in Krabi @ 5 AM. You%26#39;ll have to take a baht bus from the bus station to Ao Nang.

Ok... Koh Talu is much closer...

And I did read it is pretty island and very very quiet?

But I also did read that the ocean round Koh Tao (near Koh talu?) can be very stormy/too much waves in December and the boats can%26#39;t get to the island or back to the mainland from the island...

Is the Koh Talu more ';save'; place since it is nearer the mainland?
